How To Remove Water Stains From Stainless Steel Dishwashers

A few clients of mine have been asking me about removing water stains from the front of their stainless steel dishwashers.  So I went home and made a concoction with a vinegar base and tried it on my personal dishwasher. The results were amazing and I had everything I needed in my pantry.

Here is a close-up of the project before I got started.

So here is what you’re going to need

  • Baking soda
  • vinegar
  • lemon juice
  • olive oil
  • microfiber cloth
  • spoon

Mix one fourth cup vinegar with a half cup of baking soda. Add a tablespoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of olive oil and stir all of your ingredients until they form a paste. Once your paste is made, take your microfiber and dip it in your mixture.  Rub it in small circles over your dishwasher.

Let the mixture sit for about 5 to 10 minutes then dampen your microfiber and wife the surface of your dishwasher.

Notice how the gunk is coming right off? I love how simple this is. Once the dishwasher has been wiped off you can add a few drops of olive oil to a soft cloth and buff it right into the dishwasher surface to give it a great shine.

Here is the end result it may not be perfect but it’s 99.9% better and I’m happy. We have now successfully green cleaned the face of our dishwasher. Please leave your tips below and like, share, or tweet this post!

D.I.Y Hardwood Floor Cleaner

Well maintained hardwood flooring can change the entire dynamic of the house.  If shoes make the outfit, then it can be said that hardwood floors make the room.  They come in different types, styles, and can be stained a variety of colors.  The only downfall is that they need to be properly cleaned and maintained in order ro preserve their beauty.

Every house is different in terms of traffic, but most floors need to be mopped at least once a week.  To make your hardwood floor cleaner all you need is:

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar

Place the solution into a reusable spray bottle.  I like to spray the solution onto the floor and wipe it up by placing a microfiber cloth onto the bottom of a swiffer ( those reusable cloths get expensive and cause unneccessary waste).

If you want to be fancy, you can purchase this refillable mop from Rubbermaid.  Simply pour your vingear floor cleanig solution into the reservoir, use as directed, and your floors will be green clean in no time.

D.I.Y Liquid Cleanser / Eco Friendly Soft Scrub

Tough stains in your kitchen or bathroom can take a toll on you, especially if you dont have anything around the house  to scour them with.  Our cleaning team recently came across a shower that really needed some work, so we came up with a mixture of homemade “softscrub” liquid cleanser to help us get the job done.  All you need is:

  • 3/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup Castile soap
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 10 drops essential oils

Stir until you acheive a paste like consistency.  Dont be alarmed if it starts to bubble, the chemical reaction will do that naturally.

I then transfer mine to an repurposed container such as old commercial liquid detergent containers or an old dish soap bottle.

We used this on a severly neglected fridgeand here were our results:
